Bonnie Tyler (vlastním jménem Gaynor Hopkins, narozena 8. června 1951 ve Skewen, Wales) je jednou z nejvýraznějších zpěvaček pop-rockové scény. Její charakteristický chraplavý hlas vznikl po operaci hlasivek v 70. letech a stal se jejím poznávacím znamením.

Počátky kariéry (70. léta)

Bonnie začínala zpívat v lokálních kapelách, než si jí všimli producenti Ronnie Scott a Steve Wolfe. Průlom přišel v roce 1976 se singlem:

“Lost in France” – první hit ve Velké Británii

“More Than a Lover”

Skutečný úspěch přišel s baladou:

“It’s a Heartache” (1977) – celosvětový hit, který ji katapultoval mezi hvězdy

Největší zlom přišel ve spolupráci s producentem Jim Steinman.

V roce 1983 vydala album:

“Faster Than the Speed of Night” – první album zpěvačky na 1. místě britské hitparády
